A Home Away From Home...
“Where should we stay?” one of the very first questions asked when booking a break along with “When should we go?” and “Do you think one suitcase is enough?” (Yes I am guilty of over packing). The choice for accommodation nowadays is limitless! The rise of the likes of Airbnb, Booking.com and other travel sites as well as social media influences have made finding accommodation to tailor your needs seamless. Whether you’re after a cottage for the night, apartment for that all important business trip, hotel for some much needed R&R or even a room in someone’s apartment to experience the real culture of the city, you are guaranteed to find what you’re looking for. The most popular option though has a new ring to it altogether; enter the serviced apartments. Or the “Fully Serviced Home Away From Home” as I like to call them, but we’ll stick to serviced apartments (less typing involved!)
So what exactly is a serviced apartment? Well, while it is like most holiday apartments you book, there is that special added luxury of having certain hotel amenities. For example, most serviced apartments will have a front desk to offer that friendly go to person, should you lose your key, or get locked out of your room (yes I am guilty of this also), housekeeping because of course R&R is still very much required and welcome packs are provided informing you of local attractions and other useful local information.
But why are more people choosing serviced apartments? Well, most people would agree when I say there really is no place like home! A serviced apartment is exactly that. It’s a home away from home. You get the best of both worlds as a serviced apartment provides options. You have a fully equipped kitchen (for those who love their home cooked meals), more space than an average hotel room, and better value for money and of course you get the experience of living like a local.
Before booking your next break spend some time researching your options. Whether you’re looking for an apartment, hotel or any other type of accommodation, it is key that you find a place where you can sit back, relax and enjoy!
